Botika Academy user manual

The gamification panel appears on your dashboard and beside the course player. It shows your level, XP progress bar, daily streak and achievements.

• Earning XP: 50 XP per completed lesson, 15 XP per discussion post, 300 XP when you finish a course, 10 XP for a daily check-in, plus the points you score in quizzes.
• Levels: titles run from Rookie Rx to Pharmacy Legend. The bar shows how much XP is left before the next level.
• Streaks: visit and study on consecutive days (Manila time) to grow your streak. Your best streak is kept even if you miss a day.
• Badges: ten unlockable achievements — First Steps, Getting Serious, Study Machine, Quiz Cleared, Quiz Ace (perfect score), On a Roll / Week Warrior / Unstoppable (3/7/30-day streaks), Voice of the Ward and Course Champion. Locked badges appear greyed out.

XP is awarded on the server and de-duplicated per action, so repeating the same click never farms extra points.

Quizzes are scored Kahoot-style: 100 points per correct answer plus a speed bonus of up to 50% for finishing fast. Retakes earn half points, and your best attempt is the one that counts.

A live timer, speed-bonus meter and answered counter run while you play. Correct answers are revealed only after you pass or use your final attempt.

Every course has a leaderboard ranking learners by total quiz points and quizzes passed. Set a nickname and switch on leaderboard visibility in Profile — otherwise you appear as “Anonymous learner”.

Each course has a discussion board inside the player. Threads come in two flavours:

• Q&A — ask about a lesson or a clinical scenario; instructors and classmates reply, and helpful answers can be upvoted.
• Debate — posted ethical or practice dilemmas where you pick a stance (Agree / Disagree / Neutral) before posting your argument.

Posting earns XP and counts toward the Voice of the Ward badge. Keep it professional — never post patient-identifiable information.

Every course you are enrolled in has two companion views, reachable from the course card on your dashboard and from the player header.

• Journey map — a stage-by-stage visual path through the modules. Completed stages are ticked, the current stage is highlighted, and locked stages show the drip countdown. Tapping a stage drops you straight into your first unfinished lesson. Published virtual labs attached to the course appear as practice stops along the path.
• Resource hub — all downloadable material in one place: printable guides and job aids, PDF handouts, slide decks in the embedded viewer, and low-data audio recaps you can listen to offline. Your certificate and a CSV export of your own progress are also here.

Virtual labs are interactive scenarios built on realistic pharmacy photos. You are shown a scene — a dispensing counter, a counselling desk — and asked to tap the item or action you would choose. Each decision is scored on the server and answered with immediate coaching feedback.

• Where to find them: the Virtual labs section on your dashboard, or as practice stops on a course journey map.
• How a lab runs: steps are grouped into scenes. A step may have a countdown timer, a limited number of attempts, an optional hint, and a point value. Wrong choices explain why they are wrong so you can try again.
• Scoring: your attempt is graded against the lab pass mark. Results show your score, time taken and the steps you missed, and you can rerun a lab as often as you like.
• On a phone: hotspots scale with the image, so labs work the same on a handset as on a desktop.

The whole platform is phone-first: large touch targets, momentum scrolling, and menus and dialogs that lock the page behind them so you never lose your place.

• Resume playback: your position is saved every few seconds and whenever you pause or leave. Reopening the lesson offers “Resumed at …” with a Start over option.
• Swipe to seek: swipe left or right across the video to scrub; a time overlay shows where you will land. Vertical swipes scroll the page as normal.
• Big controls, below the video: play, 10-second seek, captions and a playback-speed cycle sit under the picture so they never cover the content.
• Auto-hiding controls: controls fade after a few seconds of playback; one tap brings them back without pausing.
• XP badge in the header: your XP total, level chip and current streak are always visible in the navigation.

After your first sign-in you are taken to a role-specific walkthrough that links each step to the matching section of this manual. Progress saves automatically, so you can close the tab and resume at the exact step you left.

Private courses: unpublished courses are only visible to admins and their instructor until they are published.
